When I read the story of Modest Coffee, I was truly inspired. Their story, unlike many others, focuses on how they began roasting coffee in a popcorn maker and eventually moved up to an Ambex, with no clue as to what their next step would be. Reading about their humble beginning is what made me decide to try their subscription. It had nothing to do with the coffee itself. Instead, it reminded me of why I wake up every morning and decide which coffee machine to use or whether I should do a pour over or frenchpress. Sure, maybe I became a little snobbish about the quality of my coffee but, really, it's because I have a passion for not only brewing, but also creating blends and flavors that people can enjoy.
Modest Coffee has 6 different subscription options that all vary from one another. Make sure you read each option closely, here, before choosing. The six options are The Modest, The Enthusiast, The Collector, The Espresso, The Decaf and The Sampler. (Note: The Sampler gives you 3 1/2 bags containing The Modest, The Enthusiast and The Collector) We went ahead and ordered a trial of The Collector. The Collector consists of coffees that are small lot, 500% and higher index, scored a 90 or above and are very rare and unique. Usually, I'm not a fan of lighter roasts but I found this particular one to be quite decent. I would definitely recommend it for someone who is just developing their palette or prefers a lighter roast with a fuller body. #TheCoffeePsychopaths https://www.modest.coffee/

Moustache Coffee Club was another one of those subscriptions we found just browsing around for some more quality coffee that we could indulge in. We started off with a free trial that exceeded our expectations. We received the 'Buena Esperanza' from Guatemala. Our first thought...We should have made the whole bag! The 'Buena Esperanza' was smooth with strong floral notes that left us wanting some more of where that came from.
Their subscription is straight forward, offering 6 or 12 oz bags delivered weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. The 6oz is $13 and the 12oz is $19. The 6oz is perfect if you are someone who maybe drinks 1 cup a day and looking to try a new coffee weekly or rotate between brands. However, if you happen to drink multiple cups a day, I say go with the 12oz because this coffee is amazing. For those who may want to go ahead and pay for their subscription 6 or 12 months in advance or keep their offices stocked, there are options. The Solo Artist is a 12 month subscription where you receive 1, 12 oz, bag of coffee bi-weekly. The Duet is a 6 month subscription where you receive 1, 12 oz, bag of coffee weekly. Both of these options cost the same and come with a FREE 8-Cup Chemex! Now, for those of you who only want the best of the best, try the MCC Tasting Series. This subscription is for those of you who are looking for rare, delectable coffees that passionate connoisseurs truly appreciate. You will receive a 2oz or 6oz coffee sample every month for $19.
